Job Overview

We are in search of a skilled IT Security Endpoint Protection Specialist to enhance our cybersecurity division. This position is dedicated to securing our organization's endpoints against various security threats and vulnerabilities, including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and servers. The role involves formulating a comprehensive protection strategy to design, deploy, implement, and refine endpoint protection solutions, ensuring these devices are shielded from malware, data breaches, and other cyber threats.


Core Responsibilities:

1. Endpoint Protection Management:

  • Configure and oversee endpoint protection solutions, including antivirus, anti-malware, and endpoint detection and response (EDR) systems.
  • Establish and enforce endpoint security policies, including necessary configurations, updates, and patches to mitigate emerging threats.
  • Monitor and analyze security alerts and reports to identify and respond to potential incidents.
  • Ensure endpoint security systems are maintained according to best practices and industry standards.

2. Threat Detection and Response:

  • Investigate and manage security incidents involving endpoints, such as malware infections and unauthorized access.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and forensic investigations to assess the origin and impact of security breaches.
  • Develop and implement incident response procedures for endpoint-related security events.
  • Perform regular security assessments and vulnerability scans to identify and rectify potential weaknesses.

3. Endpoint Security Solutions:

  • Assess, deploy, and integrate new endpoint security technologies to bolster protection capabilities.
  • Collaborate with vendors to optimize endpoint security solutions and resolve technical challenges.
  • Stay informed about the latest threats and vulnerabilities affecting endpoints, updating protection measures as necessary.

4. Vulnerability Management and Patch Deployment:

  • Identify and evaluate vulnerabilities in endpoint systems through routine scans and threat intelligence.
  • Formulate and execute patch management strategies to address identified vulnerabilities swiftly.
  • Coordinate and implement security patches and updates to endpoints, ensuring minimal operational disruption.
  • Verify the effectiveness of applied patches through thorough testing and monitoring.

5. Security Best Practices and Compliance:

  • Ensure endpoint protection practices align with organizational policies and industry regulations.
  • Conduct periodic reviews and audits of endpoint security configurations to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
  • Provide insights and recommendations for enhancing endpoint security posture.
  • Develop and implement endpoint security policies, including guidelines for password management and device usage.

6. Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with IT teams to ensure seamless integration of endpoint protection within the overall IT infrastructure.
  • Provide technical support and training to end-users regarding endpoint security best practices.
  • Create and maintain documentation related to endpoint security configurations and incident reports.

7. Continuous Improvement:

  • Evaluate and implement enhancements to endpoint protection strategies based on evolving threats.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay abreast of endpoint security trends.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Experience: 4+ years in IT security, focusing on endpoint protection and vulnerability management.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CEH, CompTIA Security+, or vendor-specific certifications are preferred.

Skills:

  • Expertise in managing endpoint protection solutions, including antivirus and EDR tools.
  • Strong experience with vulnerability assessment tools and patch management.
  • Knowledge of Group Policy management and documentation practices.
  • Familiarity with endpoint management platforms across various operating systems.
  • Understanding of security compliance frameworks relevant to endpoint protection.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and capacity to handle high-pressure situations.
  • Strong communication skills to convey technical information effectively.
