Your Role

As a Senior Plating Process Engineer, you will be responsible for enhancing and refining the plating engineering processes, ensuring that the plating quality aligns with client specifications, and innovating cost-effective, high-efficiency plating production methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate on new projects to establish plating process strategies, evaluating each approach to determine the most effective solution alongside the project team, while integrating design for manufacturability (DFM) into the plating process.
  • Ensure the manufacturability of product designs through plating considerations.
  • Conduct initial studies on plating process design at project inception, assess potential risks associated with plating, and implement solutions to mitigate those risks.
  • Act as a technical liaison among various manufacturing departments.
  • Facilitate effective communication between the Mechanical Systems Hardware (MxSH) Manufacturing Engineering team and the product design group.
  • Investigate customer quality concerns and initiate improvement measures.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related field.
  • Experience in laboratory settings or within the plating industry.
  • Proficiency in equipment design.
  • Strong skills in UG NX or AutoCAD.
  • Excellent command of English, both written and verbal.
  • Effective cross-functional communication abilities.
  • A strong aptitude for learning and a willingness to acquire new knowledge.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, demonstrating humility and respect.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrochemistry, Electrochemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Familiarity with plating processes specific to connectors.
  • Understanding of connector applications and performance metrics.
  • Over 7 years of experience in an electrical connector manufacturing environment or with a plating chemistry/process supplier, with direct involvement in plating formulation, process design, and application engineering support.
  • Proven track record of leading and managing technical projects across various corporate functions and regions for over 7 years.
  • Experience in establishing technical strategies and securing management endorsement for implementation.
