Job Overview:

MERCEDES-BENZ GROUP CHINA LTD. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Principal System Architect to lead the development of cutting-edge vehicle technology platforms. As a key member of our Research & Development team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing innovative systems that meet the needs of local markets.

About the Role:

This senior leadership position requires a strong background in system architecture, electrical engineering, and software development. You will work closely with global R&D teams to define the architecture specifications of global platforms tailored to China's requirements. Your expertise in high-performance computing, ADAS, telematics, and other areas will drive technical research directions and provide guidance to RDC teams.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead system architecture activities for MB.OS foundational system platforms from RD China's perspective
  • Gather insights from domestic and international markets to determine RD China's connectivity and autonomous driving technical research directions
  • Provide technical guidance to RDC teams from a system architect's viewpoint
  • Coordinate with global R&D to define the architecture specification of global platforms for China's requirements
  • Develop technology pre-research and product platforms meeting local market needs
  • Oversee platform system architecture updates and optimize local project system architecture
  • Participate in defining the overall vehicle technology platform architecture and its subsystem boundaries

What We Offer:

We are offering a competitive salary range of $250,000 - $350,000 per annum, commensurate with experience, plus benefits including flexible working hours, hybrid work arrangements, health measures, mobility options, and employee discounts. A strong vision for international technology development and decision-making is preferred, along with familiarity with China's local suppliers.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Automation, E/E engineering, or similar fields; Doctoral degree preferred
  • + years of experience in leading OEMs, Internet companies, Hi-tech companies, Tier 0.5, or Tier 1 companies
  • Proven track record of developing innovative technical platforms and making major technical decisions as a company-level chief architect
  • Proficient in electrical functional architecture, electrical physical architecture, network communication principles
  • Strong report writing and technical documentation skills, good external presentation skills, and fluency in English
  • Teamwork spirit, self-motivation, positive attitude, and ability to influence and lead teams
