Key Responsibilities
  • Environmental, Safety, and Health (ESH):
    • Implement and uphold safety measures and controls.
    • Educate and inform about ESH responsibilities.
    • Respond promptly to unsafe conditions and initiate preventive actions.
    • Exemplify best practices in ESH and inspire colleagues.
  • Product Industrialization:
    • Facilitate communication between central R&D and local teams.
    • Oversee the timely industrialization of new tire designs and technologies, considering local manufacturing capabilities.
    • Optimize product quality throughout its lifecycle.
    • Develop new processes and procedures for material and product industrialization.
    • Engage in design and process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and establish control plans for new initiatives.
    • Manage Tire Release Notes (RNs) until plant approval and monitor outstanding RNs.
  • Material Industrialization:
    • Collaborate with R&D developers to review raw materials and compound formulations.
    • Ensure timely introduction of new materials and compounds.
    • Assess plant capabilities with local engineering and production teams to facilitate new product launches.
    • Support knowledge sharing within the Two Wheel division.
    • Oversee Material RNs until plant approval and track open RNs.
  • Product Management:
    • Standardize and consolidate production components to enhance efficiency.
    • Implement value leadership initiatives.
    • Make informed decisions regarding off-spec materials in accordance with company policies.
    • Ensure the production and delivery of prototype compounds, adhering to specifications and timelines.
  • Coordination of ETO and Pilot Activities:
    • Lead the ETO Team (PI Technicians) to ensure timely and quality ETO builds.
    • Facilitate employee engagement alongside the PI Manager for the ETO team.
    • Enhance the quality of ETO reporting.
    • Organize weekly ETO and Pilot planning sessions.
Qualifications
  • Education: A university degree or higher in chemical engineering, with a focus on rubber and/or polymer technology and processing preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of three years in the rubber industry or a manufacturing environment; willingness to learn about the rubber sector is also considered.
  • Project and Process Experience: Familiarity with polymer material processing is advantageous but not essential; a keen interest in this area is important. Basic project management skills are beneficial and can be developed at Continental.
  • Leadership Experience: Not required.
  • International Experience: Experience working in diverse teams is highly valued.
