About the role: 

We are seeking a highly skilled Transaction Monitoring Senior Officer/Officer to join our transaction screening team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting due diligence on all transactions referred to the team, either systematically or manually. This is an office-based position reporting to the Account Operations Manager (AOM).

What you'll do and what success looks like in this role:

• Monitor, review, and perform detailed analysis and investigation of transactions flagged for potential sanctions, money laundering (ML), and terrorist financing (TF) alerts.
• Participate in daily tasks related to the bank's sanctions systems, including the maintenance of filter logs and sanctions screening lists as directed.
• Conduct thorough investigations of all system-generated sanction and ML/TF alerts.
• Collaborate with external correspondent banks to obtain necessary data for completing investigations of alerts.
• Review transaction alerts and determine whether they are permissible or require further investigation.
• Communicate with customers, when necessary, to discount potential true matches.
• Gather required evidence for investigations to ensure effective record-keeping.

What is required and what we're looking for:

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in Transaction Monitoring and/or Compliance (essential).
• Knowledge of transaction monitoring systems such as RTGS, FPS, SWIFT, etc.
• Basic understanding of other areas of Financial Crime, including Customer Due Diligence (CDD), Fraud, and Politically Exposed Persons (PEP).
• Experience in asking open-ended questions to customers to gather necessary information.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese.
• Highly organized, responsible, and driven to achieve excellence.
