The role of Senior Transaction Manager (DCM)

A Senior Transaction Manager is responsible for reviewing documentation and onboarding new debt capital market transactions for the Debt Capital Market Team. They will also be responsible for a specific portfolio of DCM transactions and will be the primary contact for the relevant counterparties for all ongoing matters. Transactions can range from Bonds and Escrows and includes working on Liability Management offerings and Restructurings. As the team grows, the Senior Transaction Manager would work closely with junior members in the Team to build up their knowledge and experience.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Managing and organising the daily workload ensuring activities are performed with defined deadlines.
- Reviewing transaction documentation.
- Inputting relevant data into internal systems.
- Being an integral part of the Liability Management product.
- Understanding of deal documentation across relevant jurisdictions
- Dealing with client queries in a timely manner.
- Highlighting areas requiring improvement in processes and procedures and working with the Manager of
- the team to direct and imbed this change.
- Establishing a high standard within the team, particularly with regards to document review, as well as professional communication to all counterparties.
- Maintaining a high level of vigilance with regards to risks, and ensuring they are mitigated where possible, and appropriately escalated to senior GLAS staff at the earliest opportunity where warranted.
- Assessing the implications of any amendment, waiver or modification request.
- Assessing the implications of any breach of covenant or breach of agreement, potential pr actual event of default.
- Adhering to the GLAS values and providing exceptional client service
- Championing various projects that may occur.
- Building relationships with law firms and external parties to enhance GLAS reputation and to increase mandates.
- Training of junior members and those GLAS employees in other teams globally.
Candidate Profile (desired but not essential)
- Educated to degree level
- Chinese language skills
- Experience of negotiating
- Experience in the Debt Capital Market space, mainly in Corporate Trust with a knowledge of Trustee's and Agency functions
- Knowledge of the clearing systems (e.g. Euroclear and Clearstream, DTC, Austraclear)
- Being proactive and having a flexible and nimble approach.
