Working within corporate office of the Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels (owner and operator of The Peninsula Hotels) in Hong Kong, we are seeking a Director, Project Management Office to oversee group-wide business and technology project implementation with a key focus on uplifting organisation capability pertaining to project delivery and governance.

Key Accountabilities

  • Establish and maintain PMO governance frameworks, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with business leaders and stakeholders to define, analyze, and prioritize project objectives for high-profile initiatives, as well as create appropriate communication and reporting
  • Lead project scoping activities, including cost estimation, resource planning, team responsibilities, and scheduling.
  • Monitor and oversee project delivery to ensure adherence to scope, timelines, and quality standards, and manage escalations or risks as required
  • Provide accurate financial updates, status reports, and budget forecasts to project sponsors and executives, including supporting procurement processes
  • Identify and analyze project risks and dependencies, implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and audit standards.
  • Act as a change agent to promote adoption of PMO practices and tools across the Technology department.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project delivery efficiency and effectiveness.

General requirements

  • A degree in technology, business or similar, with relevant qualifications in PM methodologies (Prince2, Agile, black belt etc)
  • Experience delivering PMO initiatives within the hospitality or retail industry that is multi-jurisdictional / region
  • Stakeholder leadership experience, including 3 years at a Director level supporting strategic and executive decision making
  • Excellent knowledge of technology infrastructure (finance), project management and business partnering
  • Excellent analytical and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Fluent English proficiency with an ability to present to senior leaders
