The Project Engineer for a Capital Project in China will be responsible for the end-to-end management of the chemical capital investment projects. The candidate much has the CapEx project management experience in the chemicals industry, ensuring successful execution while meeting scope, budget, safety, and timeline targets. This role requires strong leadership and teamwork for the project execution on site construction management, safety, construction quality, schedule control, equipment installation and commissioning.

Your Role

• Safety Management: Lead on the construction safety risk assessment and field safety management. To work with ESH team for the permit approval and support to take the actions related with environment and safety regulations.
• Project Execution: Lead on the construction and installation to make sure the safety, quality and timeline.
• Equipment installation & commissioning: Lead on the equipment installation and commissioning. Good at trouble shooting and closely follow up the PSSR actions.
• Team Leadership: Good at communications and teamwork with cross-functional project teams, including process, construction, procurement, maintenance, ESH, etc.
• Budget & Financial Oversight: Support on the cost saving and value engineering for project cost control.
• Documentation: Responsible for the document control and management to make sure all the vendors print documents and design drawings are well saved. To coordinate with vendors to finalize the as-built documents and hand over to operation team.
• Continuous Improvement: Support to continuously improve the production efficiency and quality.
• Other tasks assigned by the line manager.

Who You Are

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, Chemical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Advanced degrees or project management certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) are a plus.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience managing capital projects in the chemicals industry.
• Equipment maintenance background will be preferred.
• Experience working in China or with Chinese regulatory and construction environments is preferred.
• Able to read and speak English

• Problem Solving & Risk Management: Ability to anticipate project challenges and proactively address risks.
• Auto-CAD skills
• Mechanical & Electrical automation will be preferred.
