Senior Engineer – Power Architect and EMI

Who will you be working with?

You will be working with our Engineering team who are expertise to design and deliver contemporary electronics solutions to Transportation businesses including Global Locomotive, Global Service and Mining.

How will you make a difference?

As a member of the Engineering group/division, you will be responsible for all Locomotive and Off Highway Vehicle power solutions at Wabtec.

What do we want to know about you?

• Master of Science in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or equivalent
• At least 15 years of experience in electronics/electrical design and development
• Demonstrated advanced knowledge and skills in system architecture, power electronics and electromagnetic compatibility.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting EMI/EMC issues.
• Demonstrated interpersonal and technical leadership skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills involving specification development, team communications, communications with cross-functional teams.
• Experience developing products for locomotive and/or off-highway vehicle applications
• Previous experience in the development and support of safety critical systems
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and drive results

What will your typical day look like?

• Lead and provide key technical directions to support product development for EMC compliance in power electronics, processing or analogue electronics domains.
• Work with controls and system teams to optimize system architecture and troubleshoot EMI issues during new product development. Oversee design oversight in EMI/EMC fields, including grounding and interference analysis.
• Develop innovative products by implementing new and disruptive power electronics or digital technologies to meet technical and commercial requirements.
• Reinforce design quality with the rigor of verification/validation and engineering reviews.
• Provide leadership and support for root cause investigation of related field issues.
• Provide technical guidance, direction and training to new and experienced design engineers.
