Job Description

[Albemarle] is hiring for a [Sr. Procurement Manager - Indirect & Site Capital (Asia)]. This position is [hybrid and located in [Shanghai].

What You Will Do

• Team leadership and talent development: Build and lead a high-performing sourcing team. Foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous learning. Drive talent development, succession planning, and cross-functional collaboration across regions.
• Strategic Sourcing & Category Management: Lead the development and execution of sourcing strategies across indirect spending and site capital categories. Ensure alignment with business goals and deliver long-term value through effective category management.
• Supplier Management & Optimization: Establish and enhance supplier performance frameworks. Drive compliance, innovation, and strategic partnerships through robust supplier evaluation and collaboration systems.
• Procurement Systems Oversight: Guide the implementation and optimization of procurement technologies. Ensure process efficiency, data integrity, and adherence to procurement policies.
• Process Integration & Continuous Improvement: Align procurement strategies across indirect and capital spend to maximize synergy. Simplify and standardize sourcing processes for reliability and scalability.
• Cost Optimization: Identify and deliver cost-saving opportunities through strategic sourcing, demand management, and supplier negotiations. Track and report savings against targets.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain proactive communication with functional leaders to ensure sourcing decisions support operational and strategic priorities. Act as a trusted advisor across the organization.
• Global Coordination: Collaborate with local, regional, and global teams to execute sourcing plans and share best practices. Ensure consistency and agility across geographies.
• Audit & Compliance Support: Ensure procurement activities meet internal controls and external regulatory requirements. Maintain audit readiness and support internal and external audit

What You Bring

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Business, Engineering, or related field; MBA or professional certification (e.g., CIPS, CPM) preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive procurement experience, with a strong focus on indirect categories and capital projects.
• 5+ years of management experiences to show strong leadership skills and team development capability.
• Proven track record in strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and supplier management.
• Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills.
• Experience in a global or multi-site manufacturing environment is a plus.

Preferred:

• Expert knowledge of commercial contract law and management principles
• Strong negotiation skills
• Experience with claims and arbitrations a plus
• Must be self-motivated and act with minimum supervision
• Must possess organizational skills and analytical thinking for accuracy and completeness
• Ariba and SAP experience is a plus
• Ability to travel as per business needs (30-40%)
