It's an opportunity to be part of something special. Job DescriptionCollectively, the primary reason highlights the imperative to transform this procurement role from a transactional support function into a strategic enabler—one that delivers exceptional value across multiple business categories, drives innovative saving initiatives, manages material supply risk, and advances sustainability objectives within the China market and beyond; The main forces areas are China R&D category sourcing (Medical, clinical, analytical and regulatory etc.); China raw material project management (new ingredient sourcing and market intelligence, derisking and saving pipelines management) and Greater China sustainable sourcing champion;

• Responding to Complex and Diverse Business Needs: The current focus on R&D daily procurement support, while essential, no longer suffices to address the multifaceted requirements of modern operations. By expanding the role to encompass cross-functional areas — the organization seeks to ensure procurement remains agile, relevant, and value-driven amid shifting priorities and emerging opportunities.
• Strengthening raw material market intelligence and insights, opportunity identifications and project management: The inclusion of China raw material project management within the role reflects a commitment to more robust supply risk management (dual sourcing & localization), cost optimization, and performance tracking. systematic savings pipeline creation, and enhanced performance monitoring will underpin a more resilient and efficient supply chain capable of supporting both immediate and long-term business goals.
• Collaboration with across procurement category, site and CMO teams for direct material projects management: On hand, leading direct material sourcing projects management with a focus on risk mitigation, cost savings, and operational efficiency. On the other hand, proactively leverage local source advantages to identify new opportunities and always seek synergy opportunities across the global, regional and local supply base for network contribution.
• Enabling strategic sourcing for innovation and growth: Broader involvement in category management—empowers procurement to play a vital & strategic role in supplier selection, negotiation, and innovation integration. This cross-functional approach ensures that sourcing decisions are aligned with overarching business objectives and that external partners are selected to foster growth and competitive advantage.
• Drive sustainability in sourcing: To support deliveries of the organization's commitment to environmental stewardship and responsible sourcing. This emphasis not only fulfills regulatory and societal expectations but also enhances brand reputation, drives operational efficiencies, and meets stakeholder demands for sustainable business practices.
• Alignment with Industry and Network Best Practices: Many leading organizations have already transitioned to integrated procurement models that empower roles with greater responsibility across the full supplier lifecycle. Adopting this approach positions the company competitively and supports sustainable growth.

Business Expertise:

• Procurement Expertise: Strategic category management, project management, supplier relationship management, value engineering & continuous improvements, contract negotiations; Capable knowledge of Pharmaceutical / Chemical raw materials, R&D, Supply Chain Operations, with finance knowledge and sustainability expertise; Capable interpersonal skills and ability to influence a complex and diverse matrix of stakeholders and peers across global and regional category teams.
• Analytical Expertise: Proficiency in data-driven decision-making, savings pipeline tracking, and performance monitoring. Familiarity with performance management frameworks and metrics to ensure project objectives are met and sustained.

• A robust blend of technical acumen, strategic vision, and cross-functional leadership including the depth and breadth of expertise and understanding required to excel in these areas.
• External representation and Networking; Effective communication; Stakeholder engagement; Conflict resolution.
