The position will be responsible to lead concept design activities in C|GA-1. As the part of E/E architecture department, to boost China-specific requirement in E/E architecture concepts, to empower CARIAD software/hardware development in China, to produce new enabler technologies for future mobility of China.

The position will be responsible to work together with cross functional team and be responsible for initial architectural layout and package of all components in vehicle, delivering robust targets before development starts and providing innovative solutions for problems.

Your responsibilities:

The position need to analyze market, safety and security requirement, to define the concept of vehicle architecture, topology, software architecture and hardware specification,  to proceed the proof of concept project

This position will need to lead the concept design activities and innovation projects in CARIAD china. 

The position need to contribute engineering recommendation to strategic planning, reviewing requirement and solutions, preparing cost estimation and budgets, benchmarking especially China market industry supplier and competitors

Required Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree or above in Automotive Engineering, Vehicle Engineering, Electronic & Information Engineering, Automation, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields.

Working experiences:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the automotive industry;
  • At least 3 years in vehicle functional architecture, system integration, or vehicle E/E architecture development;
  • Experience with OEMs or Tier 1 suppliers is highly preferred;
  • Project experience in NEV (New Energy Vehicles) or intelligent connected vehicles is a plus.

Technical / Professional skills 


•    Familiarity with vehicle functional architecture development processes, including functional requirement definition (e.g., ADAS, intelligent cockpit, vehicle body domain, power management, chassis), function allocation, system integration, functional safety (ISO 26262), and SOTIF.

•    Proficient in mainstream development methodologies such as V-model, Agile, and ASPICE; experience with requirement management tools (e.g., DOORS, Polarion) and system modeling tools (e.g., SysML, Capella) is a plus.

•    Knowledge of in-vehicle communication protocols and standards, including CAN/LIN/Ethernet, AUTOSAR (Classic/Adaptive), and SOA-based architectures.

•    The candidate should be familiar with tools such as MS Project, JIRA and Confluence 

•    Good English is a must, Germany will be a big plus 

Project Management Skills

•    Proven experience in vehicle-level project management, capable of leading end-to-end project lifecycle from concept to SOP (Start of Production).

•    Skilled in project planning, risk management, change control, and cross-functional resource coordination.

•    PMP, PRINCE2, or APMG certification is preferred.

Leadership skills  

•    Good people leadership without authorization 

•    Good communication and presentation skills 
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with SOA-based or Centralized + Zonal E/E architectures;
Familiarity with cutting-edge technologies such as ADAS, intelligent cockpit, OTA, and V2X;
Experience in mainstream vehicle platform development (e.g., VW MEB, Geely SEA, Changan SDA);
Hands-on experience in functional integration testing or HIL/SIL validation
