We are looking for a Vice Academic Principal  for an international high school located in Chengdu. This is a full-time position starting in February or August 2024.

About the school

This school is located in a prime location on the South Third Ring Road in the High-Tech District of Chengdu. It offers the IGCSE and A-level full-time curriculum, which is known as the "Gold Standard". The campus is designed with a holistic approach to education, with recreational areas, a library, a student cafeteria, an indoor heated pool, a multi-purpose lecture hall, an auditorium, and a sports hall, providing students with a holistic space for learning, collaboration, and interaction.

 

Job summary

The mission of the Foreign School Principal is to prepare Chinese students to attend prestigious international universities, such as those in the UK and US. The Foreign Principal will be employed at a boarding school for secondary students in Chengdu. Their role will involve collaborating with Chinese principals to oversee academic matters.

 

Principal responsibilities

  • Administration of teaching affairs related to the international courses for high school sector
  • Co- work on curriculum development
  • Development of fusion courses, including British culture and contemporary approaches to learning
  • Designing and Overseeing teacher’s PD programmes
  • Coordinating school’s international affairs, ie. student exchange, foreign expert visit, transnational academic cooperation

Requirements

  • Providing 16 teaching periods a week (science or mathematics）
  • Familiarity with the UK education system, IGCSE and A-level curriculum
  • Experience of senior administration within UK schools (at least 3 years)
  • Principal/head teacher experience at one or multiple well-established UK schools is highly desired
  • Knowledge of the Chinese education system (desirable)
  • Working experience in China (desirable)
  • Bachelor degree or above, major in education or science
