Job Description

Team Summary

The Business Analyst of Value in Kind (VIK) project is part of the Business Planning & Operation team in China. It serves dual roles 1) Partner with account executives to leverage incentive pool to drive Visa brand promotion, marketing campaigns and card usage, end to end responsible for the incentive VIK projects execution 2) Act as a control focal to facilitate the external & internal processes, including but not limited to ticket creation / project set up into the system, purchase order receiving, electronic sign off as well as project revenue / cost booking. This role is acting as the compliance ambassador via collaborating with different stakeholders, including Compliance, Controllership, Legal, Client Incentive Operation, Tax, Sourcing etc.

What a Business Analyst does at Visa:

As a Business Analyst at Visa, he/she needs to be a reliable partner, seamlessly partnering with account executives and different functions to direct the potential business opportunities into right track, ensuring the compliance with internal policies and procedures. The Business Analyst also needs to track and monitor the project progression, provide accurate monthly forecast and timely project closure. The detail jobs of this role include the following:

  • Work closely with account executives to understand the overall account strategy, key business initiatives and support them to achieve business goals
  • Attend sales cadence meeting together with account executives to update the business trend, Client’s requirement and provide the latest business outlook
  • Coordinate VIK business pipelines, monitor the pipeline’s progression, drive the project contract signing together with the account executives 
  • Participate in client joint calls if required, to iron out project details, provide proposals, negotiate with service provider for better commercial terms beneficial to both Visa and Client.
  • Facilitate the internal review and approval for the proposed projects, ensuring the projects meet established policy/procedure and compliance requirements.
  • Once the project is signed, closely track project utilization, alert Client for top-up preparation, complete reconciliation and perform project closure in due course.
  • Ensure project revenue and cost are booked correctly each month, collect appropriate supporting documents / evidence and save them properly in central repository.
  • Lead ad-hoc initiatives which could be part of continuous VIK transformation or control environment enhancement.
  • Maintain a robust control environment and provide the necessary guidance to the account teams.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 3 days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.


Qualifications

What you will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably with finance / business related education background
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in financial industry, audit firms or corporate internal control positions, preferably with project management experiences
  • Demonstrated expertise in time management, planning and organization skills, with a proven track record of efficiently managing multiple concurrent projects.
  • Be very detail oriented, ensuring the highest level of quality in deliverables
  • Self-motivated, willing to learn more about the payment industry business
  • Commercially minded with business acumen– good with numbers, strong sense of financial concepts
  • Good in communication skills, fluent in both English and Mandarin writing / speaking
  • Good in Excel and PowerPoint skills
