We are currently recruiting for an Operations Manager to join our SSL Operations team. You will be joining a professional and international team with extensive knowledge of the industry. Working closely with our customers and vendors, you will provide customers with excellent service. Your expertise ensures that we will continue to set the industry benchmark for seamless and efficient operations.

Stolt Tank Containers (STC) is a leading provider of door-to-door transportation services for bulk- liquid chemicals and food-grade products. With a fleet of more than 45,000 tank containers, STC is the only operator with its own worldwide network of 22 owned and joint venture depots.

What you will be doing

As Operations Manager, you will supervise and direct the overall operational logistics execution by operations staff for all SSL related business, developing processes of continuous improvement and fostering teamwork between the SSL business teams.

Key Responsibilities  

Review, improve, balance and streamline operational activities to maximize profits, control costs, provide excellent customer service and meet or exceed company quality goals. Educate and nurture direct reports, develop individual improvement plans through the PMP process and identify training and skill sets for development and improvement of direct reports. Ensure bookings are implemented in a timely manner according with working procedures, settle daily operation issue in accordance with the policies and procedures of SSL. Ensure all freight, demurrage and other invoices are raised correctly and in a timely manner. Assist in verifying vendors invoices as/when required. Oversee the timely update of SSL systems and all necessary documentation. Set up good relationship with both customers and vendors. Monitor and manage vendor's service, make sure all vendors/agents' service meet SSL's requirement. Contribute to the success of the business through regular interaction with safety and sales staff at the inception of new business, carriage of new products and loading or delivery to or from new locations, with the goal to begin new business with excellent safety and develop a high-quality execution plan for each new transportation combination. Accompany on customer visits, if required.

Qualifications 

College / University degree preferred or suitable industry experience. General background knowledge of forwarding and shipping industry. Strong international experience and awareness of cultures Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills Must be ethical, organized and able to prioritize and set goals. Common sense and problem solving skills required. Fluent English and Mandarin required.
