Job Description
The APAC CMS Quality Leader is responsible for leading all quality assurance and control activities to ensure products meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. This role oversees the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of quality management systems, processes, and procedures across the entire product lifecycle in APAC.

This role develops and implements quality management systems, processes, and procedures across the entire product lifecycle, from design and development to manufacturing and delivery.
This role collaborates closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain, to define quality requirements, establish quality control plans, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
conducting product inspections and audits,
analyzing quality data and metrics,
investigating quality issues and customer complaints,
implementing corrective actions
ensuring compliance with relevant industry regulations and standards.
Additionally, this role ensures compliance with relevant industry regulations, standards, and customer requirements, maintains accurate quality records and documentation, and represents the quality function during regulatory inspections and audits by external parties.
The APAC CMS Quality Leader establishes and maintains a supplier quality management program, including supplier qualification, evaluation, and monitoring processes, and conducts supplier audits to ensure compliance with quality requirements..
Safety and Compliance
Ensure compliance with all regulatory, Customer and Veolia WTS EH&S and Integrity policies.
Challenge and influence others on Safety and Compliance standards.
Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, open communication, and learning.
Demonstrate active safety, quality & environmental leadership and take ownership / responsibility
Build and maintain a risk management culture by forming positive relationships with Safety, Quality, Environment, Community with all stakeholders
Demonstrate a commitment to continually improving health and safety performance.
Become familiar with and abide by all applicable Veolia WTS policies and guidelines, and relevant statutory obligations and ensure comprehensive permit compliance for the facility and region.
Developing and leading by example on a positive safety culture that drives down the number of recordable incidents and accidents, as well as first aids.
Report all occupational injury, illness, near miss incidents, environmental spills regardless of its severity in Gensuite.
Quality Planning and Control:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, manufacturing, supply chain) to define quality requirements and specifications for new products and processes.
Develop and implement quality control plans, including inspection and testing protocols, acceptance criteria, and sampling plans.
Oversee the execution of quality control activities, such as incoming material inspection, in-process inspections, final product testing, and packaging/labeling verification.
Analyse quality data and metrics (, defect rates, process capabilities, yield) to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for improvement.
Initiate and lead corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to address quality issues and prevent recurrence.
Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement:
Conduct regular internal audits and supplier audits to assess compliance with quality standards and requirements.
Investigate customer complaints, product non-conformances, and quality incidents, determine root causes, and implement effective corrective actions.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and statistical process control (SPC).
Facilitate quality improvement projects, including process validation, testing methods, and process capability requirements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements, cost reductions, and quality enhancements.
Business process:
Establish a robust Quality Management System (QMS) for the APAC region, aligning it with global requirements while considering local specifics and regulations.
Develop a comprehensive Quality and Master Data Playbook, clearly defining ownership, processes, system operations, and troubleshooting procedures for each area.
Design and implement Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for all areas of responsibility, ensuring they are met through effective planning and execution.
Oversee quality and master data management for new raw materials and product extensions in the region, including developing quality specifications and process recipes.
Optimize workflow processes, focusing on cycle time reduction and accuracy improvements.
Identify and implement opportunities for total material cost reduction while maintaining quality standards.
Provide quality and master data inputs or recommendations to support the organization's roadmap and new business needs.
Represent the quality function during internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with relevant industry regulations and standards.
Work closely with the Sourcing function to ensure supplier quality standards are being established and maintained.
Team Development:
Manage and develop a team of quality professionals, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement within the organisation
Provide coaching, mentoring, and professional development opportunities to the quality team.
Quality Management System:
Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive quality management system (QMS) aligned with industry standards (, ISO 9001) and customer requirements.
Establish and document quality policies, procedures, work instructions, and control plans.
Ensure the QMS is effectively communicated, understood, and followed by all relevant personnel.
Conduct regular audits and assessments to verify compliance with the QMS and identify areas for improvement.
Maintain accurate and comprehensive quality records, documentation, and reporting systems to support quality assurance and control activities.
Qualifications
In-depth knowledge of quality principles, methodologies & tools (, Six Sigma, CAPA).
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Knowledge of project management principles and methodologies.
Strong leadership, team management, and coaching skills.
Strong commitment to quality, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction.
Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Desired Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Reliability Engineering or Supply Chain related field, with some of that being in the Chemicals industry
Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality assurance and management roles within a manufacturing or product development environment.
Strong chemical knowledge and background
Proven track record of successfully implementing and maintaining quality management systems.
Experience with regulatory compliance and industry-specific quality standards (, ISO, FDA, GMP).
Strong background in quality management, manufacturing processes, and process improvement methodologies.
