Legal Expertise Sought in APAC

We are seeking a seasoned legal professional to join our team in APAC. This role will require a deep understanding of commercial law, with a focus on contract review and drafting, IP management, and litigation & claims management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support management in various legal areas, including commercial, corporate, labor & employment, litigation & claims, regulatory, and compliance.
  • Advise Fortive and OpCos on all aspects of commercial relationships, including drafting and reviewing commercial agreements and advising on corporate entity issues in APAC.
  • Support on IP matters, especially patents under local OpCo's name, and assist on the IP aspects of other commercial relationships.
  • Lead and support on litigation, claims, and other significant legal matters.
  • Support M&A and other strategic activities, including acquisition due diligence and post-closing integration.
  • Support China/APAC legal & committee members across OpCos, being the bridge between regional teams and global legal teams.
  • Advise HR leaders on legal aspects of labor & employment matters across APAC.
  • Support in implementation of compliance programs outside of China under APAC, lead & support on compliance investigations, provide compliance trainings, and assess compliance concerning promotion programs.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years' legal experience required, with both law firm and in-house experience preferred;
  • Master degree from an accredited law school and Chinese bar;
  • Experience in handling a broad range of legal issues with an emphasis on commercial matters, including contract review and drafting, IP management, litigation & claims management, and compliance;
  • Strong English written and oral communication skills;
  • Experience with multi-national business strongly preferred;
  • Unquestioned integrity and honesty, adhering to the highest ethical standards;
  • Excellent organizational skills, with ability to prioritize tactical and strategic tasks;
  • Self-starter who works independently and proactively;
  • Fast learner who thrives in a high demand environment;
  • Commanding presence with demonstrated leadership skills;
  • Problem-solver with excellent judgment and a high degree of business acumen;
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across multiple cultures and legal systems;
