Job Title: Legal Counsel

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Legal Counsel to join our team at Huntsman. As a key member of our Legal Department, you will provide legal support and advice to all divisions and functions across the company in China and APAC.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft, negotiate, and administer a wide range of legal agreements to ensure the company achieves the best commercial deals while minimizing legal liabilities.
  • Advise the company on various legal matters, including agreements, transactions, regulations, claims, and litigation.
  • Develop and implement legal templates to promote standardization and efficiency.
  • Provide training on relevant legal matters and procedures to ensure compliance and best practices.
  • Liaise with other functions, including Procurement, IT, Credit, Tax, EHS, and HR, to ensure alignment with stakeholders in company transactions.
  • Monitor and advise management on current and new legislation affecting company operations.
  • Promote the highest ethical standards and ensure compliance with company policies.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's law degree or higher with specialization in commercial or corporate law.
  • Qualified as a lawyer in China.
  • At least 5 years of post-qualification experience in a reputable law firm or multinational company as a legal counsel.
  • Manufacturing industry experience, particularly in the chemical industry, is advantageous.
  • Strong influencing capability, high energy, and ability to develop strong relationships with internal clients.
  • Ability to prioritize work, work independently, and be well-organized.
  • Effective communication and collaboration with colleagues worldwide.
  • Fluency in English and native Mandarin.
