Job Title: Legal Counsel

About the Role

As a key member of the AbbVie China Legal team, you will be responsible for providing legal support to the company's business and operations in mainland China. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Chinese law and regulations, as well as experience in the pharmaceutical industry.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Provide strategic legal advice to support business development initiatives and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Review and negotiate complex commercial agreements, including distribution agreements, collaboration agreements, and other corporate agreements.
  • Work closely with the business team to identify and mitigate risks associated with market access, go-to-market strategies, and innovative collaboration models.
  • Support the Regional Counsel in handling corporate secretarial work, managing disputes, and litigations.
  • Identify and propose solutions to complex legal issues related to assigned strategic matters.
  • Collaborate with other lawyers within AbbVie to resolve legal issues and find business-oriented solutions.


Qualifications:


  • Must have a law degree from a reputable Chinese university or overseas education background.
  • Bar admission in China, US, or other major jurisdictions.
  • At least 5-8 years of prior working experience, preferably gained from a reputable law firm or as an in-house counsel in an international organization.
  • Expertise in pharmaceutical regulation, antitrust and competition law, general corporate and anti-bribery law, and privacy and compliance.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, with ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and build strong relationships with peers and stakeholders.
