JOB SUMMARY

Assist Global Design MSB Project leader to lead and track project and design activities for Marriot Select Brand in terms of landscape design, interior design, architectural design, and electromechanical design by providing consultancy and training support to owners and designers. The position requires very good Mandarin/Putonghua language, highly technical translation skills in both speaking but specifically in writing. This person will also be able to call owners and consultants on a regular basis. CANDIDATE PROFILE Education and Experience Architecture design related education background is preferred. A minimum of eight years of professional experiences. Previous hotel projects experience is preferred. Native mandarin speaker and good command of spoken English with technical translation capability. Skills and Competencies Must be mature. Strong organization and communication skills. Able to use “Microsoft Project”. Strong team player. Able to work under pressure. CORE WORK ACTIVITIES Performs the following types of basic tasks: analysis, auditing, budgeting, forecasting, programming, research, report generation, and software integration. Responds to, solves, and makes decisions on standard/routine business requests with limited risk. Is responsible for own work and contributing to team, department and/or business results. May direct work of non-management staff. Assists more senior associates in achieving business results by: Utilizing technical knowledge and skills to enhance business processes. Establishing priorities for self and, where appropriate, others. Allocating own time effectively to meet goals in a manner that does not disadvantage other associates or groups. Contributing to department/unit budget as appropriate input, following guidelines, etc). Demonstrates an awareness of personal strengths and areas for improvement and acts independently to improve and increase skills and knowledge. Performs other duties as appropriate. Specific Expected Contributions Lead assigned projects with tracking of project milestone, timely issuance of required design guidelines, tracking of brand standard deviations and project hot issues log, and updating of project schedule using the Microsoft project program. Alerts Senior Management when certain project milestone is delayed or behind schedule. Goes over the tracking reports with Senior Management and MSB Program leader on a monthly basis. Requires Technical Chinese language translation from owners and from Project Directors.
