:Research Scientist
Huntsman’s Performance Products division is now looking for a Research Scientist. This Scientist is to provide technical support for the chemicals or chemical solutions used in industries including Adhesives, Coatings, Fuels, Lubricants, oil field chemicals and oil refinery processing additives.
This role will work closely with functional team members including Marketing & Commercial to keep the technology objectives in line with the business priorities & growth plans.
This role is an individual contributor and located in Huntsman Shanghai Campus.
As the Research Scientist, your responsibilities are:
Safety
Operate lab & technical support activities fully compliance with Huntsman’s EH&S policy and strive for continuous improvement in safety performance.Delivery of R&D project
Carry out lab evaluations to identify value proposition and develop application data for market promotion with existing product in line with business objectives. Investigate customer needs and develop in-depth understanding of industry technologies development trend, work closely with synthesis team to develop new products and new technologies to meet market needs.Technical support for regional business development
Develop and foster relationships with strategic customers through high quality technical service activities. Identify and foster join-development opportunities with high potential customers by using global HPP product and application technology. Maintain close working relationships with regional commercial team and distributors, provide sufficient support in technical inquiries feedback, joint customer call, etc. Contribute to business promotion through actively participate company or industry seminar, roadshow, etc., and develop product promotion tools together with marketing team.Skills and experiences required:
Advanced degree, preferably Mater or PhD degree in petroleum chemicals, petroleum refining or petroleum processing engineering, or, Chemistry or chemical-related fields. Open to fresh PhD or Master(1-5 years working experience) with synthesis research experience Application knowledge of chemicals industries such as coatings, adhesives, fuels additive, lube additive, oil field and Enhanced oil refinery (EOR). Knowledge of chemistry, especially petroleum chemical, organic chemistry, surface science or polymer science. Familiar with processing chemicals or chemical solutions for fuels or oil refinery process. Ability to self-manage work programs under general direction from line manager and communicate widely and efficiently within the team. Ability to have good interface with internal & external customers for problem solving and achieving target. Ability to work as part of a high-energy team with members of diverse backgrounds. Ability to communicate and interact effectively with all levels of the organization as a member of the technical team.Additional Locations:
