Provide Leadership• Works on a cross-functional project team through all phases of the complex product development process;• Providing guidance and mentorship to less experienced team members;• Leads or coachs others to execute design changes to commercially released product;• Leads design review, Kaizan;• Creates, maintain work instructions, guidance, process;• Develops team’s technical competency;• Provides subject matter expertise to the organization across at least one field.Execute Design & Development• Works closely with other team members to generate design concepts and develop detail designs which meet design requirements;• Work with cross function team to ensure product design to meet the requirement for manufacturing, cost, service, reliability, and regulations;• Works closely with other members of the team and external suppliers to produce functional prototypes for evaluation;• Works closely with other members of the team to perform design analysis on hardware, software architecture and requirements;• Works closely with other members of the team to perform assembly qualifications;• Works closely with other members of the team to develop verification/validation plans, executes testing and documents results;• Works closely with other members of the team to maintain and update relevant documentation to comply with the quality management system.Intellectual Property• Confirm IP FTO; Lead portfolio patent management (planning, submission, map);• Executes limited patent searches to understand current state of the art and potential white space;• Provides insights on technology trends;• Leads specific new technology development.Project Management• Develops, review and executes project plans including scope definition, scheduling, budgeting, and contingency planning;• Provide guidance and input into the project plans of other team members.Supervisory Responsibility• May be responsible for accomplishing work through outside resources (e.g., consultants, contractors, design suppliers);• Works closely with and provides mentorship to less experienced team members;• Other duties as assigned.
