Summary / Role Purpose:

The Senior Application Engineer plays a vital role in utilizing expertise in domain engineering and industry relationships to assist customers in resolving complex engineering issues using Ansys' computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software products. The goal is to enhance customer productivity, satisfaction with Ansys simulation tools, and drive significant growth in Ansys' software revenue.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Utilize advanced engineering knowledge and CFD simulation techniques to deliver top-tier technical support to customers and partners, ensuring superior and timely customer service.
  • Take ownership of customer issues, offering comprehensive solutions and engaging with key accounts proactively. Independently handle technical activities in various sales phases, understand customer needs and engineering workflows, and effectively communicate Ansys' value proposition.
  • Provide training at different levels, deliver professional services for projects, collaborate with other engineers, gather customer feedback to enhance Ansys software, and assist in developing new product features.
  • Participate in internal knowledge-sharing initiatives, contribute to creating best practices, solutions, and FAQs, mentor team members, and continuously expand engineering knowledge and domain expertise.

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

Preferred education: Masters or PhD in Energy, Automotive, Aerospace engineering, or related field. Experience of 5 years for Masters and 3 years for a PhD in relevant engineering domains.

  • Expertise in Fluid dynamics, Heat transfer, Thermodynamics, FSI multiphysics.
  • Proficiency in relevant disciplines within Ansys' business, demonstrated use of Ansys software for industry-level challenges, strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills, and the ability to present effectively in English.
  • Professional demeanor, sense of urgency, organizational skills, willingness to travel, among other qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • MS or PhD degree preferred, experience in turbo applications, fluid-structure interface simulations, and knowledge of Ansys tools like Workbench, Fluent, and CFX.
  • Ability to learn new physics areas quickly, interact with senior management, familiarity with scripting languages, and other desired skills.
