ABOUT THIS POSITION

If you join us as an Applications Engineer at ATS, you'll be involved in the complete project lifecycle. This includes translating user requirements into functional design specifications, participating in factory acceptance tests, site installation, commissioning, operation, developing training manuals, and providing customer training. After each project, you'll play a vital role in maintaining deployed systems to keep them running smoothly.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

The perfect fit for this role should have 3-6 years of experience in a similar position. Knowledge of Manufacturing Processes & Automation will be a plus. An essential quality for this position is the ability to independently manage the development and support of shop floor IT projects according to customer requirements. Good communication skills are crucial, both for internal and external interactions. Any previous experience with factory shop floor applications, OEM machine tools data collection, inspection systems, SCADA/PLC integration, and MES systems will be highly advantageous. You should be self-motivated and willing to learn and apply new technologies. This role involves customer interaction at a senior management level and in a multi-vendor environment. Strong interpersonal skills are necessary to engage with stakeholders at all levels professionally and responsively. Travel will be required for this position.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Engage in automation/inspection/control/MES/IT projects throughout the project lifecycle, including development, upgrading, debugging, testing, and improvement Provide operation and maintenance support to customers and internally as needed Prepare functional and technical documentation Develop, test, commission, operate, and maintain systems Assist in preparing technical pre-sales documentation and proposals

Collaborate with external stakeholders at various levels for detailed project planning and delivery

REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS

Proficiency in manufacturing application development and technical communication Experience with visual and/or dimensional inspection systems Familiarity with SCADA systems (Ignition, Iconics, etc.) and HMI development 3-6 years of experience in a relevant field Knowledge of PLCs and PLC programming Proficiency in MS SQL, Oracle, MySQL databases Experience in Machine Communication for manufacturing industries Ability to configure, build, and distribute third-party libraries for embedded systems and Microsoft Windows Intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft .NET technologies (C#) Basic understanding of JAVA, ASP .NET, and web technologies Detail-oriented with multitasking abilities

ADDITIONAL SKILLS

Experience in customer-facing roles Effective communication skills Proficiency in technical and root cause documentation Fluency in English
