Responsibility Level:

As a Product Application Engineer at Clarios, you will be responsible for recommending cutting-edge battery solutions to both domestic and international customers. You will work closely with the sales team as their technical partner, leading communication with OEM engineering teams, and collaborating with the SDT team to ensure successful OE projects execution. Building strong relationships with technical experts and decision-makers on the customer side is essential, fostering partnership-type relationships and staying ahead to meet future needs.

Typical Duties:

  • Lead a regional team of technical experts, serving as the primary technical advisor and product advocate for sales activities.
  • Provide innovation and leadership direction to regional teams, analyzing emerging technology trends and translating them into business opportunities.
  • Analyze marketplace information to define future product sales levels, potential customers, and competitor threats regionally.
  • Develop OE customer low-voltage product roadmap and product function requirements in collaboration with the team.
  • Act as a technical liaison between customers and Clarios, contributing to the development of technical elements for RFQs and proposals.
  • Maintain positive relationships with customer decision-makers and support in developing sales and service contracts.
  • Promote low-voltage batteries according to the customer's EE Architecture and AUTONOMY strategies.
  • Drive product cost reduction through innovative VAVE ideas and project implementation.
  • Continuous improvement of current products to meet evolving customer needs.
  • Utilize engineering academy skills in product manufacturing processes and design.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Engineering or Business; MBA preferred.
  • 8+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • Background in Electronic and Electrical Engineering or Electrochemistry/Application Chemistry.
  • Familiarity with automotive industry processes and project management tools.
  • Experience in automotive Electronic and Electrical Architecture, AUTONOMY, and Battery Management System (BMS) is advantageous.
  • Strong ability to understand customer requirements, align them with product offerings, and drive customer success.
  • Proven track record in developing and delivering custom solutions and technical presentations to key decision-makers.
  • Effective data collection, research, and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Prior experience in automotive OE customer engineering.
  • Proficiency in Chinese and English for professional material comprehension.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Strong interpersonal communication abilities.
  • Travel expectation of approximately 40% between Clarios and customers as needed.
