Summary / Role Purpose:

The Senior Application Engineer plays a crucial role in utilizing domain engineering knowledge and connections to assist clients in solving intricate engineering challenges using Ansys computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software products. The aim is to enhance customers' efficiency, satisfaction with Ansys simulation products, and significantly contribute to Ansys software revenue.

The position involves recognizing critical customer challenges, offering simulation-based technical resolutions, engaging in pre-sale initiatives to bolster sales campaigns, managing and delivering professional services to support software growth, and aiding in the transformation of customer needs into exciting new product functionalities.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Utilize advanced engineering knowledge and expertise in CFD simulation techniques to deliver top-tier technical support to clients and channel partners, ensuring exceptional and timely customer service.
• Take ownership of clients' issues, proactively collaborate with selected accounts to provide comprehensive solutions, work autonomously, and contribute to all technical activities during the sales opportunity lifecycle. Interact with customers to grasp their business and product design requirements and explain Ansys' value proposition.
• Conduct introductory, intermediate, and/or advanced training sessions. Plan and execute professional services for projects, including potential collaboration with other field engineers in similar or different disciplines.
• Gather customer insights and trends to enhance Ansys software, collaborate with Ansys product development teams to convert customer needs into new product capabilities, and test new releases on real-world problems.
• Engage in internal corporate initiatives to exchange knowledge, establish best practices, solutions, and FAQs within the discipline and across different disciplines. Actively contribute to the growth and mentorship of team members.
• Continue expanding engineering knowledge and domain expertise.

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience:

• Must hold a Master's or Ph.D. in Mechanical, Energy, Automotive, or Aerospace engineering, or a related field. Preference for backgrounds/experience related to power battery, fuel cell, or motor.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in the relevant engineering domain for Master's degree and 3 years for Ph.D.
• Expertise in Fluid dynamics, Heat transfer, Thermodynamics, FSI multiphysics.
• Specialization in one or more relevant disciplines within Ansys' business that can benefit other Ansys engineers.
• Proven use of Ansys software or familiarity with other commercial CAE software packages for solving industry-level issues.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of leading webinars and presentations for customers.
• Demonstrated proficiency in writing and presenting in fluent English.
• Logical problem-solving approach and the ability to clearly communicate situations and proposed solutions to customers.
• Project professionalism and strong business acumen in customer interactions.
• Display a sense of urgency, excellent organizational skills, and follow-up capabilities.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

• Master's or Ph.D. degree preferred.
• Preferred 5 years of professional experience in the relevant engineering domain for Master's degree or 3 years for Ph.D.
• Experience with turbo applications, Fluid-structure interface simulations, Data plus physics models implementation, or Process integration and Design optimization is a plus.
• Proficiency in using Ansys tools such as Ansys Workbench, Ansys Fluent, and Ansys CFX is desirable.
• Ability to quickly learn new physics domains and apply simulation-based solutions.
• Effective interaction with senior business and engineering managers, as well as C-level executives.
• Familiarity with scripting languages like C, C++, and Python is advantageous.
