About our Team
At STM Journals, we partner with researchers to facilitate the publication of their impactful scientific discoveries, emphasizing rigorous peer review, ethics, and reproducibility. You will play a key role in advancing science, improving health outcomes, and promoting equitable participation in publishing through our 2700+ hybrid and open access scientific journals.

About the Role
As the Director of Partnerships, you will focus on building strong collaborations with respected government organizations, institutional leaders, and corporate stakeholders in China, supporting Elsevier's commitment to empowering Chinese researchers and institutions on a global scale. You will work closely with local and global STM Journals teams and cross-functional groups to drive innovation and enhance Elsevier journals for the Chinese market.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and nurture partnerships with government organizations, institutions, and corporate stakeholders in China.
  • Lead strategic partnerships and initiatives with local and global stakeholders.
  • Develop innovative partnership models to enhance Elsevier's reputation and customer experience in China.
  • Be a thought leader in the Chinese scientific market, using market insights to drive strategic decisions.
  • Collaborate with China-based teams to execute commercial strategies effectively.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the team, fostering a culture of learning and growth.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree in MSc/MBA, PhD a plus.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in STM publishing.
  • Deep understanding of the Chinese research and publishing markets.
  • Proven experience in building partnerships in China.
  • Commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and drive continuous improvement.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and complex environments.
  • Creative problem-solving abilities.
