Our customer is one of the world's leading manufacturers of systems for testing and diagnosing electronic and electrical vehicle components.

As the General Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading sales activities in Shanghai. We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in sales and team leadership, coupled with a profound understanding of the Chinese market.

Tasks
  • Manage the Chinese subsidiary of a mid-sized private-owned company specializing in capital goods for the automotive industry, taking full P/L responsibility.
  • Formulate market and product strategies through close communication with key customers.
  • Translate market requirements into effective solutions.
  • Develop and implement short- and long-term strategies for the company and its products, expanding business within the assigned area.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong partnerships with business partners.
  • Ensure all activities align with the corporate mission, values, and code of conduct.
  • Be accountable for P&L, company culture, code of conduct, and sustainable positive development, fostering a positive working environment for the team.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in managing a company with at least 140 employees.
  • Familiarity with collaborating with foreign investors and reporting lines to international companies.
  • Sales experience in capital goods and a related industry background.
  • University degree in Electrical Engineering or IT; a master's degree, either obtained in China or abroad, is preferred.
  • Background and education on the commercial side to run a company, such as an EMBA or commercial/legal education or relevant pre-experience.
  • Solution-oriented with an integrated management style.
  • Excellent communication skills and a charismatic presence.
  • Professionalism and experience in managing complex business tasks.
  • Fluent in English and Mandarin; knowledge of German is desirable.
