Purpose of the Position

We are seeking a trainee to join our Counter Balanced (CB) Division based in Shanghai, specifically on North Sichuan Road, for a trainee program spanning from July to December, 2024. This role presents an excellent opportunity for students to engage in modeling Kalmar vehicles and creating an application interface for parameterizing them.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Design and develop an application interface to customize and test vehicle configurations using Simulink models.
  • Enhance Simulink models of Kalmar vehicles by integrating virtual vehicle subsystems such as electrical powertrain, chassis, and hydraulics.
  • Thoroughly document the modeling and parameterization procedures, encompassing model structure, component specifications, and application functionalities.
  • Address and resolve issues during model development and application deployment.

What You'll Need to Succeed

  • Currently pursuing an M.Sc degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink for dynamic system modeling and simulation.
  • Hands-on experience in UI development and proficiency in a programming language like Python or C/C++. Knowledge of app development frameworks (e.g., App Designer in MATLAB) for constructing user interfaces is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with software development tools and version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Strong communication and presentation abilities in both English and Chinese.
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle dynamics, e-powertrain, control systems, and automotive engineering principles.
