Position Summary

This role is the technical and operational leader of the Quality Control group. This position is responsible for overseeing end-to-end product quality and directs all Quality Control activities for the facility. The role also ensure adherence to internal product quality standards and compliance with the Quality Management System all while leading the group towards maximum productivity, efficiency, and accuracy.

This position is based in our Shanghai Minhang office.

Job Responsibilities

This position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

  • Manages and develops team of quality inspectors and ensures quality control procedures are carried out properly in accordance with Straumann product quality requirements.
  • Designs, develops, and conducts training sessions on quality control standards and process improvements.
  • Organize and lead daily group meetings to focus awareness, resolve issues and foster a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Work closely with cross functional groups (local and global teams) to understand Straumann Quality Control practices, develop/recommend new methods of control to lower the overall cost of quality associated with inspection activities, and implement QC routines for new product introduction or tech transfers.
  • Develop and monitor Quality Control metrics and take appropriate correct actions to ensure targets are met.
  • Participate in root cause analysis investigations for CAPAs, NCRs, or other quality investigations.
  • Act as the owner for measurement technique definition.
  • Follows safety rules and maintains personal safety and the safety of others, including maintaining a clean and safe work area.
  • Accurately records and reports of information as required.
  • Follows employee policy within the company.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in quality, engineering and/or manufacturing fields preferred.
  • Must have 5+ years quality engineering experience in medical device manufacturing field with focus on Class II and Class III medical devices.
  • Experience in leading and training Quality Control teams preferred.
  • Excellent understanding of quality principles, quality control methods, inspection techniques, and inspection equipment.
  • Knowledge and demonstrated ability to use a wide variety of measuring instruments/tools such as ring gauges, micrometers, optical measurement, and other inspection equipment.
