The Customer Support Business Group is dedicated to empowering our clients with exceptional support throughout their journey with Lam. We focus on enhancing performance, productivity, safety, and quality for our customers' installed equipment, providing essential service and lifecycle solutions for their most critical processes.
Your Contribution
As a Field Process Engineer at Lam, you will be a key resource for our customers, leveraging your expertise to address their needs. Your responsibilities will include conducting process support, evaluating, and documenting process outputs related to hardware modifications and upgrades. You will play a crucial role in assisting customers with installations, training, and identifying design enhancements in collaboration with product teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver process support and installation services, enhance process/system productivity, and develop new applications of Lam equipment at client sites.
- Execute Design of Experiments (DOE) evaluations to define process parameters for new installations or suggested field hardware modifications.
- Design and implement experiments, gather data, analyze findings, create reports, and offer actionable recommendations.
- Innovate new processes for minor variations to existing customer applications.
- Manage application-related projects, including planning, problem definition, objective setting, approach development, and recommendation delivery.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients to understand their requirements, technology roadmaps, process flows, and business challenges.
- Represent Lam to our esteemed customers, ensuring exceptional satisfaction.
- Present technical and marketing information with a collaborative mindset to keep clients informed about products and services that meet their needs.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
Qualifications We Seek
Minimum Qualifications:
- PhD in Electronics, Chemistry, Physics, Material Science, or a related discipline; or a Master of Science with 3+ years of relevant experience; or a Bachelor of Science with 5+ years of experience.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including data analysis tools, word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, along with excellent customer relationship abilities.
- Capability to work in a cleanroom environment, utilizing personal protective equipment, and be available for on-call duties as necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
- Comprehensive understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and/or Design of Experiments (DOE).
- Foundational skills in analytical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making.
