Position Overview:

We are in the process of establishing a premier Global Trade Services (GTS) organization, and the Analyst for the Data and Devices Business Unit plays a pivotal role in supporting trade operations and ensuring compliance within the Business Unit (BU).

The BU Analyst acts as a trusted advisor and integral team member within TE's Operational Compliance team for the BU. This role is essential for facilitating TE's adherence to import and export regulations globally, enhancing global trade compliance, mitigating risks, improving responsiveness to challenges and opportunities, and streamlining the operational facets of international trade.

This position reports to the Data and Devices Business Unit Manager and is a vital member of the Global Trade Services team. As part of the GTS team, the Data and Devices Analyst will collaborate with professionals dedicated to ensuring the future growth of the business by providing solutions for compliance with global trade laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Trade Compliance Activities in the BU:
• Act as a subject matter expert for trade operations in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region.
• Implement and oversee trade operations while ensuring compliance with import/export laws and regulations.
• Maintain trade operations and compliance activities in line with TE policies, collaborating with key stakeholders throughout the BU.
• Serve as a point of contact for BU stakeholders regarding trade-related issues.
• Engage with BU stakeholders to understand business changes and develop trade-related solutions and strategies to ensure compliance.
• Maintain BU-level Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and reporting to ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness.
• Collaborate with GTS Governance to establish and maintain relationships with trade-related government entities.

Collaboration with Trade Compliance Professionals:
• Work with GTS Governance to monitor regulatory and legislative changes in trade compliance, assess their impact on the BU, and communicate necessary actions to stakeholders.
• Partner with GTS Governance teams to conduct trade compliance audits and oversee corrective action plans.
• Collaborate with GTS Governance to develop and deliver effective trade compliance training as needed across the region and organization.
• Ensure proper utilization of the GTS Operations Service Center for product classification, restricted party screening, and compliance with duty savings, while also ensuring accurate country of origin determination, valuation, and admissibility.
• Work with Operational Service Centers to identify and implement opportunities for facilitating trade in a compliant and cost-effective manner.

• Lead by example and demonstrate empathy in all interactions.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree required (international business, supply chain, law, or related field).
• 6+ years of experience in global trade compliance within the APAC region.
• Preferred: 3+ years of experience supporting trade functions in an industrial, communications, transportation, or similar sector.
• Functional knowledge of import and export regulations and familiarity with customs practices across the region.
• Proven ability to collaborate with various business groups, including supply chain, legal, procurement, and finance.
• Strong teamwork and relationship-building skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize effectively.
• Customer-focused with a commitment to quality.
• Preferred: Customs Broker License or other Customs/Trade certification.
• Travel may be necessary to fulfill responsibilities.
