We are seeking a highly experienced Academic Director to lead our Kindergarten programme at an international school in Guangzhou. This is a full-time position starting ASAP.

About the school

The school is a private international language school located in Guangzhou, offering a range of programmes including primary, middle, American high school, IEP, and Korean departments.

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day management of the Kindergarten programme, ensuring alignment with the school's Vision and Mission Statement
  • Develop and implement the programme, with the goal of achieving full recognition by the IB
  • Provide professional development opportunities for teachers, including training and collaboration with the Coordinator
  • Advise the Principal on staffing, budgetary, and facilities needs
  • Recruit teachers in collaboration with the Principal
  • Liaise with the school's registrar to maintain accurate student records

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, PGCE or PGDE with at least 7 years' teaching experience
  • Collaborative team player with excellent communication skills
  • Ability to apply current technology to staff development and instructional delivery
  • Successful teaching experience, with prior training and experience in an IB programme preferred

Benefits

  • Monthly salary of 35,000 to 40,000 RMB before tax, commensurate with experience and qualifications
  • Additional housing allowance of 2,000 RMB a month
