NPI Materials Manager Job Description

The NPI Materials Manager is a critical role within the Amazon Innovation Center (Shenzhen) Company Limited, responsible for ensuring seamless material fulfillment for NPI builds. This individual will work closely with the OEM partner to drive order fulfillment, manage day-to-day communication, and oversee material forecasts and delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as the primary liaison between the OEM and the team in Sunnyvale, monitoring, managing, and driving the OEM to meet NPI materials goals and schedule.
  • Communicate forecast and verify fulfillment from a materials perspective.
  • Drive solutions to reduce and eliminate any shortages preventing meeting order schedule, including assisting in sourcing materials as required.
  • Schedule and host meetings with suppliers in the US and/or globally as required to reduce and eliminate shortages.
  • Be responsible for report generation and distribution.
  • Represent the materials organization in internal Lab126 program meetings.
  • Some travel may be required, especially around xVT builds.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of supply chain, forecasting, manufacturing, sourcing/procurement, or vendor management experience.
  • 5+ years of program or project management experience.
  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements.
  • Experience owning program strategy, end-to-end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of driving process improvements experience.
  • Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design, or related field.
  • Knowledge of Excel at an intermediate level (e.g., pivot tables & charts, multiple criteria lookups, nested logical/IF formulas, data cleansing, array formulas, etc.).
