Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Expertise

Deliver technical support to customers, encompassing direct farm contact and the commercial animal farming industry. Serve as a technical resource for sales professionals and customers, interpreting field data and providing feedback on housing, transportation, equipment, nutrition, and related matters. Document customer requirements and offer technical guidance related to sales strategy and proposals.

  • Solution Development

Uncover implied customer needs through questioning and develop those needs. Establish value for the customer by investigating and developing explicit needs. Illustrate the company's capabilities by explaining how products and services align with customer needs (Benefit Statements). Support the feasibility of standard, customized, partnership, and new approaches for offered products and services, focusing on optimization and improvement.

  • Knowledge Sharing

Introduce new solutions and concepts to customers. Manage a program of communication to the animal breeding industry through in-house publications and press articles. Prepare technical presentations demonstrating how products meet client needs. Contribute to sales meetings by providing deeper understanding of solution workings or applications, as well as product limitations and non-traditional product usage. Facilitate training for internal sales professionals and on-site technical training for customers.

  • Process Efficiency

Develop, monitor, and update written standard operating procedures and process control strategies. Collaborate with other organization functions, such as engineering, manufacturing, or quality control, to identify user and/or design problems.

  • Tools and Systems

Coordinate, execute, maintain, and/or improve various administrative sales processes and systems, aligning with applicable work methods to ensure efficient and effective sales administration in line with policies and regulations. Record the outcome of sales calls and plan future actions to move the sale towards a successful conclusion - including additional investigation (needs identification) where necessary.

  • Insight and Reporting

Provide insights to management on request or own initiative regarding quantitative and qualitative developments within the sales and expertise area, based on reporting guidelines. Ensure all information is appropriately stored and updated, allowing management and/or relevant stakeholders to make timely decisions and adjust sales decisions and strategy.

  • Internal Collaboration

Responsible for maintaining and building own product and technical knowledge in relevant product categories by taking local & global technical trainings and collaborating with the sales team, product development, and Global Innovation. Based on input from Marketing and Pricing measures, prepare and quote customers to advise them appropriately and conclude the sale of products.

  • Project Participation

May participate in various sales and customer service-related projects in their area and contribute to project results.
