We are currently seeking a highly skilled Research and Development Lead - Polymer Chemist to join our team in Shanghai.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional with a strong background in organic chemistry and polymer science to lead research initiatives and drive the development of new products.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Designing and conducting experiments to develop novel polymer products and catalysts
  • Generating innovative ideas to expand Kemira's product portfolio
  • Collaborating with global R&D teams to commercialize new products
  • Supporting APAC manufacturing sites in process upgrades

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on challenging projects, develop your expertise, and contribute to the growth and success of our organization.

To succeed in this position, you will require:

  • A PhD/MSc degree in organic chemistry or polymer chemistry from an accredited institution
  • Over 5 years of experience in chemical industry, preferably in research and development
  • Strong knowledge of molecular design and hands-on experimental skills in laboratory settings
  • Demonstrated advanced knowledge of wet chemistry analysis or instrument analysis
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to effectively present scientific results
  • Fluency in English, both spoken and written
