Job Description

SUMMARY

We are seeking a skilled Trade Compliance Specialist to join our IFF Trade team in the ASPAC region. This role will be responsible for managing import and export activities for Pharma Business in China and the rest of ASPAC (except India). The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of local and global trade regulations and be able to develop and apply best practices for compliance.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE AND LEAD

  • Understand local and international trade-related laws and regulations.
  • Oversee and communicate regulatory changes with the development of best practices.
  • Provide trade-related advice to Business on a daily basis, including but not limited to HS code classification, Inco-term explanation, special scheme, etc.
  • Lead and participate in communication with local Customs when required.
  • Support Business projects and develop compliant trade solutions per requirement (Special Economic Zone, etc.).
  • Drive cost savings, especially in customs duty savings from FTAs, duty incentives, and other programs.
  • Lead internal and external trade-related audits in China and the rest of ASPAC (except India).
  • Conduct training to internal customers and improve awareness of trade regulations.
  • Monitor, track, and report China and the rest of ASPAC (except India) import and export metrics.
  • Customs broker management and regular review.
  • Connect with Global Trade team and participate in global projects.

Job Requirements

HOW YOU WILL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

We are looking for a candidate with a Bachelor's Degree in International Trade, Logistics, or equivalent by experience. At least 5 years of experience in import and export operations is preferred. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of local and international trade regulations, strong teamwork and high ethical standards, good interpersonal and communication skills in Mandarin (China) and English, and strong problem-solving skills.
