Application Development Manager TPU – CIS

Key Responsibilities:

As a TPU Film Expert for CIS and Mobility, you will drive the growth of related applications and businesses through technical expertise and know-how. You will identify new opportunities, generate technical insights, and develop innovative solutions with Covestro's go-to-market strategy.

Key Tasks:

  1. Act as a technical expert for TPU Film in CIS and Mobility, providing technical advisory services to customers, including product design, tooling design, processing, and onsite trouble shooting.
  2. Closely collaborate with business development and sales functions to align with regional segment strategies and growth plans, particularly for key applications such as Kites, Textile in CIS and Seating, Blinder in Mobility.
  3. Drive technical development projects by understanding customer needs and translating Voice of the Customer (VOC) into Critical to Quality (CTQ), and lead application and technical benchmarking studies in CIS and Mobility industries.
  4. Initiate and lead competitive product analysis to build up technical intelligence and identify Covestro's competitive advantage.
  5. Lead responsible segments' New Product Request (NPR) projects, covering from initiation, technical evaluation, communication, and drive cross-regional, cross-functional project teams to deliver and meet customer needs.
  6. Anticipate technology development trends in the TPU film processing industry for CIS and Mobility segments, interpret material needs to develop Covestro's future product portfolio.
  7. Foster CE solutions within the industry, such as partially bio-based TPU Film.
  8. Create a unique Covestro position to be protected by IP.

Requirements:

  • PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering, Polymer Engineering, Polymer Chemistry, or related disciplines.
  • Minimum 8 years' experience working in the plastics industry, ideally TPU synthesis, Textile, Mobility, or Consumer Electronics.
  • Good knowledge in plastics films processing, particularly in TPU films fabrication, printing, and forming.
  • Strategic and creative innovation mindset.
  • Great communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate cross-function and cross-region interactions.
  • Good language skill in English.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Willing to travel frequently.
