At Aristotle Teachers, we are seeking an accomplished High School English Language Arts (ELA) Educator to join our esteemed faculty for the 2025 academic year.

The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of literature and composition, with the ability to connect these concepts to students' lives in meaningful ways. They will teach a range of high school classes, guiding students through the exploration of classic and contemporary works of literature, the development of analytical and creative writing skills, and the mastery of essential grammar and language skills.

Our ELA Educator will help students not only understand texts but also relate them to broader cultural, social, and historical contexts, preparing them for both standardized exams and the critical thinking required in higher education and life.

Aristotle Teachers is a K-12 international school located in Beijing, China. Our campus boasts 200,000 square meters of beautiful gardens that integrate natural ecology, cultural heritage, and modern beauty with 140,000 square meters of green space.

Our curriculum is organized into the Elementary School, grades K-5, the Middle School, grades 6-8, and High School, grades 9-12. Under the guidance of the Ministry of Education's nine-year compulsory education program, our curriculum is built on the strength from both Chinese and western education.

We follow a bilingual program using the US Common Core and Next Generation Science Standards along with the Chinese National Curriculum for Elementary and Middle School. For High School, we follow the US Common Core and College Board AP curriculum, as well as offering the UK IGCSE and A-Level UK programs.

The successful candidate will have:

  • a four-year degree from an accredited university
  • a Bachelor of Education, PGCE, Teaching license: QTS, national/state teaching license/certificate or equivalent
  • three years of experience teaching in a bilingual school, international school, or government/state school

Key Responsibilities include:

  • planning, preparing, and delivering engaging and rigorous lessons in English literature, writing, reading comprehension, and language arts to high school students
  • teaching a range of ELA topics, including classic and contemporary literature, literary analysis, rhetoric, composition, grammar, and vocabulary development
  • guiding students in developing critical reading, writing, and thinking skills through the study of novels, poetry, plays, and non-fiction texts
  • helping students improve their writing skills across various genres, including argumentative essays, research papers, creative writing, and formal reports
  • providing detailed feedback on student writing and assignments, supporting their growth in literacy, grammar, and composition
  • incorporating diverse texts and perspectives to enhance students' understanding of different cultures, histories, and viewpoints
  • fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that encourages active participation, discussion, and collaboration
  • utilizing differentiated instruction strategies to meet the needs of students with varying abilities, learning styles, and backgrounds
  • preparing students for standardized assessments, college admissions exams (e.g., SAT, ACT), and any other relevant external exams
  • assessing and monitoring student progress through a variety of assessments, including projects, essays, quizzes, and exams
  • communicating regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities
  • staying current with trends in ELA education and participating in professional development opportunities
  • collaborating with colleagues in the English department to create interdisciplinary projects and ensure a cohesive curriculum
  • participating in extracurricular activities, such as school publications, writing clubs, or drama productions

A competitive salary ranging from $53K to $65K per year is offered, depending on qualifications and experience.
