Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Accountant to join our team at Marriott International. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day execution of general ledger impacted processes, including support to clients as they work with and understand these processes.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for a candidate with a 4-year bachelor's degree in Finance and Accounting or a related major. Alternatively, a 2-year degree from an accredited university in Finance and Accounting or a related major, along with 2 years of experience in finance and accounting or a related professional area, is also acceptable.

Core Work Activities

Managing Work, Projects, and Policies

You will be responsible for coordinating and implementing accounting work and projects as assigned. This will include coordinating, implementing, and following up on Accounting SOP audits for all areas of the property. You will also be responsible for complying with Federal and State laws applying to fraud and collection procedures.

Maintaining Finance and Accounting Goals

You will be responsible for achieving and exceeding goals, including performance goals, budget goals, team goals, etc. You will also be responsible for developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish your work.

Demonstrating and Applying Accounting Knowledge

You will be responsible for demonstrating knowledge of job-relevant issues, products, systems, and processes. This will include demonstrating knowledge of return check procedures, the Gross Revenue Report, and write off procedures.

Leading Accounting Teams

You will be responsible for utilizing interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage others. You will also be responsible for motivating and providing a work environment where employees are productive.

Managing and Conducting Human Resource Activities

You will be responsible for supporting the development, mentoring, and training of employees. You will also be responsible for providing constructive coaching and counseling to employees.

Additional Responsibilities

You will be responsible for providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person. You will also be responsible for demonstrating personal integrity and using effective listening skills.
