The Operations Associate within GPD UIT plays a crucial role in the precise processing and valuation of Unlisted Investment transactions, including trades and Corporate Actions, within our Accounting systems. This position requires collaboration with various teams both locally and internationally. The ideal candidate should demonstrate a willingness to acquire new skills, adapt to changes, and communicate effectively. Key attributes for success in this role include effective communication, accuracy, timeliness, and a commitment to delivering exceptional client service.

The individual will serve as a primary resource within the designated business unit to process transactions in alignment with established protocols.

This position offers a hybrid work model, allowing for a balance between remote work and office presence to accommodate personal and professional needs.

Key Responsibilities

As an Operations Associate, your responsibilities will include:

  • Executing fundamental processing tasks, such as trade processing, Corporate Action booking, valuation, and reconciliation, in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Addressing and managing accounting inquiries, escalating issues as necessary, while maintaining a sense of urgency to meet required deliverables.
  • Collaborating closely with inter-departmental contacts to process all necessary events, ensuring effective risk management.
  • Identifying risk-related issues and breaches, adhering to the 'risk' escalation chain and operational procedures.
  • Taking accountability for assigned tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Working in tandem with the Team Leader to promptly address issues requiring management attention.
  • Supporting the business in delivering high-quality client service and ensuring that assigned deliverables are planned and executed efficiently.

Skills and Qualifications

The following skills will contribute to your success in this role:

  • A degree in Finance or Accounting is preferred.
  • Experience in financial services or a back-office operations environment is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Excel is a valuable asset.

Educational Background

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • Proficient PC skills, particularly in Excel (Intermediate level).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Additional Considerations

  • Flexibility to work early shifts (starting between 6:30 and 7:00 AM) is acceptable.
  • Willingness to work on public holidays is expected.
  • An average of 20 hours of overtime per month is acceptable.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage time effectively is essential.
  • Attention to detail and a focus on accounting service are critical for ensuring the accuracy of accounting data delivery.
  • Strong English reading and writing skills are necessary for accurately interpreting transaction instructions and composing notifications.
  • Capability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Openness to team arrangements for task allocation.
  • Acceptance of KPI assessments based on accuracy and timeliness.
  • A collaborative spirit, demonstrating strong teamwork to support colleagues in daily tasks.
  • A clear understanding of fund accounting principles and a commitment to pursuing a long-term career in this field.
