The Department of Biological Sciences at Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University is a dynamic and rapidly growing research community focused on molecular bioscience. With a strong emphasis on interdisciplinary collaboration, the department has established a solid reputation through its research grants and national and international collaborations.
The department is equipped with state-of-the-art instrumentation and custom-built labs, providing an ideal environment for research and teaching. Current research areas include cancer biology, structural biology, biotechnology, biomedical sciences, bioinformatics, cell signaling, genomics, molecular microbiology, neuroscience, proteomics, virology, and AI for biomedicine.
Responsibilities and Duties- Teach undergraduate and graduate students in biological sciences and bioinformatics
- Maintain active research and obtain research funding
- Carry out various administrative duties related to university teaching and research
- Supervise graduate students and support teaching and research staff
- Establish an innovative and well-funded research group that is open to interdisciplinary collaboration

Candidates should have a strong background in evolution or genetics, preferably related to human health, as indicated by high impact publications. A PhD degree in biological sciences or a related discipline is required, along with evidence of teaching experience/potentials and the ability to produce high quality research publications.
Candidates for the position of Associate Professor or above should also have a strong track record in teaching and academic supervision, as well as an international research profile in their fields and a successful record of research funding.
