Job Summary

Pfizer is seeking a highly skilled China Policy Manager to join our team in Beijing. This role will be responsible for shaping Pfizer's in-market engagement with central and Beijing government to advance strategic business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of Pfizer's strategy in Beijing, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless engagement with government stakeholders.
  • Develop and execute government affairs strategies to support business objectives, leveraging expertise in public policy and stakeholder engagement.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with key internal stakeholders to ensure government engagement makes measurable impact in advancing business objectives.
  • Advocate for a favorable operating environment for the pharmaceutical industry and access to Pfizer's medicines and vaccines, working closely with government agencies and industry associations.
  • Act as the main point of contact for relevant government agencies, providing regular updates on work priorities and development trends.
  • Work with RDPAC and other chambers/associations to support advocacy efforts, as directed.
  • Implement projects to support advocacy efforts, leveraging expertise in project management and stakeholder engagement.
  • Build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships, including with global/regional policy and public affairs teams.
  • Partner with relevant functions to coordinate seamless, unified Pfizer representation to Chinese Government and ensure aligned policy positions and strategy for engagement with Chinese authorities.
  • Make crisis management efforts, as directed.

Requirements

  • Holds a bachelor's degree (or above) in medicine, pharmacy, public health, public administration, law, economics, or another relevant field.
  • Has 5+ years of experience working in the healthcare or other highly regulated industry, with experience working in a public agency or multinational company preferred.
  • Understands the healthcare environment, government agencies, networks, and policy-making processes, with a strong understanding of the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Can establish and maintain effective partnerships with government and other key stakeholders.
  • Has effective advocacy and communication skills, with fluency in Mandarin and good English language skills.
  • Results-orientated, with good problem-solving and project management skills.
  • Is a team player.
