Job Title: Procurement Manager, Packaging

At Kenvue, we are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Manager, Packaging to join our team. This role will be responsible for driving the development of Primary Packaging category practices for China, both personal care and Selfcare business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Define Category Strategy for China personal care and Selfcare Business:
    • Analyze category and define category profile, including risk assessment, supply base assessment, and SRM strategy
    • Benchmark category practices to identify improvement initiatives
    • Build category-specific strategic plan in alignment with the regions/countries and align with strategic plan to financial budget and global business strategies in alignment with global Category Manager and business stakeholders
    • Define P2P and Buying Channel strategy, identify and consider automation potential and P2P/Channel effectiveness
  • Lead primary Packaging category strategy implementation and savings realization:
    • Initiate internal and external analysis (industry and supplier)
    • Consolidate requirements, acting as a business partner for business/other functions, supporting the alignment and optimization of specification with the business/other functions
    • Lead contract implementation and drive contract compliance
    • Be accountable for efficient alignment enablement/activation of negotiation outcomes by increasing the level of automated content within the category, instructing on new content updates, and by providing clear instructions about the category strategy to enable compliance
    • Be accountable for savings delivery according to the mutually defined targets
  • Support the work and efforts of a cross-functional Sourcing Team in all stages of a strategic sourcing project:
    • Collaborate and align with global/regional/local procurement teams as applicable
    • Support supplier selection and fact-based negotiations
    • Contribute to leading practice exchange throughout Procurement organization
    • Lead RfX execution: Select supplier and drive fact-based negotiations
    • Collaborate with legal to finalize contractual agreement and its administration
    • Work with Procurement Leads to implement and activate contracts globally
  • Manage commercial supplier relationship management with key suppliers within the defined category scope:
    • Maintain and manage relationship with suppliers identified as key suppliers in the selected category and region, monitor performance of key strategic suppliers according to the guidelines
    • Lead supplier development activities; set up cross-functional review meetings with key strategic suppliers in order to improve performance and further cost/demand reductions
    • Support the identification of potential contract improvement opportunities and re-negotiations
  • Manage relationship with key stakeholders and business representatives:
    • Provide input on volume/specification/price to build smart consumption policies
    • Act as escalation point for category-related issues and drive resolution in line with global Procurement policies
    • Achieve “buy-in” from key stakeholders for major procurement initiatives
    • Be a business partner to the global Category Manager to create and outline contribution for budget improvements
    • Manage relationship with regional and local business units. Foster that needs are being identified, represented, and incorporated into category strategies
    • Own price information, contributing to budgeting process
    • Support resource allocation between global and regional/local category initiatives
    • Promote/escalate region-specific procurement requirements on a global level, including changes of local legislations and policies
    • Act as point of contact for the business to assure business requirements are met
Qualifications:

What we are looking for:

  • Academic background: Appropriate University/bachelor degree qualification is essential. A recognized qualification in procurement would be considered an asset
  • Experience: Extensive knowledge of category at hand is preferred, with substantial professional experience 10 years in the same functional domain
  • Language skills: Proficiency in English essential
