The Role

The Associate Software Quality Engineer I is a key role in our Chemical Engineering, Oil and Gas Storage and Transportation Engineering, or Computer Science teams. This position is responsible for ensuring the quality of our software for the next generation of Autonomous Production Optimization solutions for the petroleum refining and petrochemical industries.

Your Impact

  • As part of our software quality team, you'll work closely with our Shanghai and other offices' teams to complete assignments with low complexity and risk, following priorities and instructions provided by your manager, under the supervision and daily guidance of your manager and senior team members.
  • You'll understand basic product features, execute automated or manual test cases (mainly on regression cases), and submit testing results to ensure testing coverage and product quality. You'll be able to identify product defects and create test cases with assistance from senior team members.
  • You'll be aware of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and cooperate with Quality department activities to prevent milestones slippage for major releases. You'll report information to your manager.

What You'll Need

  • 0-1 years' working experience in the chemical or software industry, with a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Oil and Gas Storage and Transportation Engineering, Computer Science, or related majors.
  • Good spoken and written English skills.
  • Experience with industry software is preferred.
  • Software testing experience is preferred.
  • Experience with C#, Python, or other programming languages is desired.
  • You'll be a quick learner for product knowledge or automation testing.
  • Good communication skills and teamwork ability.
