This role ensures that the comprehensive, cohesive solution meets the operational requirements outlined in the client agreement and validated through acceptance testing and successfully completed tasks.

Key Responsibilities and Qualifications:

  • Establishing and directing the integration approach throughout all project stages from Solutions to Execution;
  • Assisting the Solutions Development team as necessary to improve automation solutions both pre-sale and post-contract award;
  • Supporting the Functional Design process managed by the Software (WCS) project manager, participating in FDS meetings, interpreting and refining client requirements, and reviewing and approving Functional Design Specifications (FDS or SFS) created by the WCS software team;
  • Advising the Simulation team with technical insights, reviewing and endorsing simulation outputs and reports;
  • Creating and detailing system functional design including automation controller interfaces, integration requirements, third-party interfaces; documenting message points, types, routing strategies, flow control, and integration of simulation strategies;
  • Ensuring specification and delivery of emulation by relevant parties within scope;
  • Supervising the testing of WCS/WMS using simulators and emulation software, in collaboration with the Test Manager if designated;
  • Providing a functional scope to the client;
  • Leading and coordinating the KION Group team for equipment and WCS/WMS software integration, ensuring complete functionality according to agreed testing procedures;
  • Conducting pre-site interface tests between WCS and all subsystems;
  • Overseeing site-wide system testing (with Test Manager, if appointed), including detailed documentation of the test strategy, plan, specifications, and outcomes;
  • Guiding customer-witnessed Site Acceptance Testing (with Test Manager, if designated), managing client test approval;
  • Managing and reporting on all project issues via JIRA or other tools (with Test Manager, if assigned); driving stakeholders to address issues for testing completion;
  • Generating system availability weightings and forwarding to the Visualization team for utilization, or creating suitable reporting tools if Visualization is not part of the project;
  • Providing weekly progress updates to the PM and Head of Systems Integration, promptly escalating identification of project risks and ensuring documentation control as necessary;
  • Building strong relationships with internal and external clients by delivering high-quality service;
  • Maintaining KION Group's reputation as a leading, professional organization through an honest, professional, and customer-oriented approach with clients and team members;
  • Adhering to Health and Safety standards, including Method Statements and Risk Assessments;
  • Collaborating with Clients, Project Managers, and Project Engineers during project phases;
  • Driving innovation to enhance our solution delivery to end clients wherever feasible (e.g., cost reduction, time-saving, enhanced functionality);
