Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled CBW Equipment Engineer to join our team at Corning. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading developments and proposing engineering programs in equipment design and modification to improve or enhance current process capabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead developments and propose engineering programs in equipment design and modification to improve or enhance current process capabilities.
  • Assist with the leadership of field support teams during the installation and checkout of new technology and designs.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot automated equipment to meet manufacturing targets.
  • Ensure the inclusion of new designs into rebuild and new construction Appropriation Requests.
  • Ensure mechanical/electrical drawings, operation manuals, and software packages are archived properly within the plant.
  • Create project charters, project plans, resource plans, and cost estimates.
  • Lead project teams to achieve project deliverables and timelines.
  • Document and track activities, scope changes, and lessons learned.
  • Assess project status and adjust project plans to ensure timelines, budgets, and deliverables are met.
  • Focus on continuous improvement to drive effective and efficient deployment and integration processes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering (preferably mechanical engineering).
  • At least 3 years of experience in a relative job role.
Preferred Skills
  • Familiarity with statistical data analysis.
  • Familiarity with equipment design, selection, purchase, start-up, and debug.
  • Good troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or other engineering drawing programs.
  • Good presentation and reporting skills.
  • Good parts management and maintenance coaching skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication, coordination, and follow-up skills.
  • Creative and strong continuous improvement work characteristics.
