About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Corning. As an Equipment Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and implementing new equipment and processes to improve our manufacturing capabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of engineering programs to improve or enhance current process capabilities.
  • Assist with the leadership of field support teams during the installation and checkout of new technology and designs.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot automated equipment to meet manufacturing targets.
  • Ensure the inclusion of new designs into rebuild and new construction Appropriation Requests.
  • Archive mechanical/electrical drawings, operation manuals, and software packages properly within the plant.
  • Create project charters, project plans, resource plans, and cost estimates.
  • Lead project teams to achieve project deliverables and timelines.
  • Document and track activities, scope changes, and lessons learned.
  • Assess project status and adjust project plans to ensure timeline, budget, and deliverables are met.
  • Focus on continuous improvement to drive effective and efficient deployment and integration processes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (preferably mechanical engineering).
  • At least 3 years of experience in a relative job role.
Preferred Skills
  • Familiarity with statistical data analysis.
  • Experience with equipment design, selection, purchase, start-up, and debug.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or other engineering drawing programs.
  • Excellent presentation and reporting skills.
  • Good parts management and maintenance coaching skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication, coordination, and follow-up skills.
