Executive Sous Chef Opportunity at The Peninsula Shanghai

We are seeking an exceptional Executive Sous Chef to join our prestigious team at The Peninsula Shanghai. As a senior leader, you will play a key role in achieving our company's objectives and delivering an unforgettable guest experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and lead the kitchen team, collaborating with the Food and Beverage Division and stakeholders to achieve business goals and objectives.
  • Oversee food production, controlling daily ordering and requisitions to meet budgeted costs and ensuring adherence to hotel cost control policies.
  • Maintain up-to-date technical worksheets, recipes, and costings, ensuring team members understand and comply with procedures.
  • Hire, develop, motivate, supervise, and coach departmental employees to achieve excellence in food service.
  • Develop menus considering product availability, service cost, marketing conditions, and seasonal factors, ensuring alignment with the hotel's pricing policy.
  • Liaise with purchasing to secure the best prices for food products.
Requirements
  • Three years' experience in a similar position, with expertise in food production or related work.
  • Fluent communication in English, with strong interpersonal and service etiquette skills.
  • Able to work different shifts and assist other F&B departments as needed.
