Job Summary

The Technical Development and Engineering Manager is a key role at Novelis, responsible for leading and coordinating the development of customer solutions and technology for the Aerospace and Industrial Plate Value stream in Asia. This position requires a high level of engagement with customers to understand their needs and market requirements, and to showcase the value of aluminum as the right material of choice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all TDE activities in Asia for A&IP business and ensure alignment with global TDE on key responsibilities.
  • Introduce new products and value-adding services, and report progress from customers and the plant side on development.
  • Manage CVI projects and report from the commercial side, influencing progress collaborating with R&D and Operation teams.
  • Lead assigned strategic agenda projects from global and regional A&IP teams, including sustainability projects.
  • Oversee CSI from the technical side on claim process and continuous improvement.
  • Manage application-related onsite support and product continuous improvement projects.
  • Serve as a technical interface with mid-senior technical leaders from customers to support sales and marketing events.

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (preferable PhD) in Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering from a well-known university.
  • Strong engineering background in Aerospace industry preferred.
  • Experience in a people management role an advantage.
  • Proficiency in English, able to work in a global exposure environment.
  • Ability to learn continuously and quickly under all circumstances and situations.
  • Demonstration of energy, self-driven, and enthusiasm in the pursuit of goals.
  • Working in teams effectively for delivering shared goals.
  • Building long-lasting, trustworthy, and productive relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Continuously upgrading skills, acquiring knowledge, broadening perspective, and building experiences.

Novelis Shanghai office is located in Caohejing High-tech Park, Minhang District.
